About us

We are a group of climate-concerned local residents and other supporters who accept the core principles, values and demands of Extinction Rebellion UK.

We operate independently of XR UK, making our own decisions and deciding which non-violent actions we engage in. We are registered with XR UK as a local group.

We have many roles and none of our members are obliged to engage in activities they are not comfortable with.

We come from all walks of life and backgrounds; united through our realisation of the seriousness of the climate and ecological emergency.

In our group we believe that the worst effects of climate and ecological change can be addressed but only if there is popular and governmental will to do so. We believe that the UK has a role and responsibility to set an aspirational example internationally.

We are making a difference – XR Stratford-upon-Avon & friends at The Big One

XR Stratford, Stratford Climate Action & other folks from the Stratford area at Parliament – we managed to fill an entire coach!

On April 21-24, we took part in a hugely significant peaceful protest about the climate & ecological emergency. Over 4 days, around 100,000 ordinary people and 200 organisations including Greenpeace, Friends of the Earth, PCS, Fuel Poverty Action, NHS Workers Say No, Parents For Future, CAFOD, Don’t Pay UK, Compass and many more (click here for the full list or organisations) gathered around Parliament to demand climate action and build alliances.

The Big One was all about hope and community building – thousands of ordinary people stood up for climate justice and it was beautiful to see!

Thank you so much to everyone for a fantastic collaboration of individuals from the Stratford area!
